ABSTRACT

Block copolymers can self assembly when in selective solvents to produce well defined nano objects. These entities can then further assembly to form larger and continuous structures. I will show, as example of this concept, two different systems: in the first approach, a fully synthetic copolymer in organic solvent self assembly into sunflower micelles which can further associate to produce infinite worms; in the second approach, a sugar based copolymer self assembly into vesicles that can produce either bicontinuous 3D structures or 2D honeycomb pattern.  In both cases, the objects formed from the self assembly of copolymers can be seen as building blocks for advanced supracolloidal materials.
